Covering
Safety/Safe Gun Handling, Dynamic application of marksmanship fundamentals, Drawing from Holster (Open &/or Concealed) , Shooting while moving, Multiple target/Multiple Distance Engagements, Intro Concept of Speed, Use of Barricades, Unconventional Shooting Positions, Non-Standard Response drills, Reload drills, Malfunction drills, 1-hand Shooting drills, Strategic Thinking/Planning and Fighting – expounding on Defensive Fighting Handgun mindset.
Concludes with HG201 Skills Test (Passing is required to advance/attend next-level courses).
Students must be able to stand, crouch, kneel, and move swiftly between firing positions.
Gear Requirements
Semi-automatic handgun, at least THREE magazines, Sturdy holster (open or concealed carry) and mag pouches. (No soft, collapsible holsters for this course.) Eye & Electronic Hearing Protection, Speed loader strongly recommended, and a Minimum of 200 rounds of training ammunition. Note-taking material and a desire to learn and develop your skill set.
